Storing information overseas

[We store health records in Australia.] Some service providers, such as [website form provider / email], may store data overseas, including in [countries]. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard consistent with Australian privacy law.

How we protect it

We keep records in secure, password-protected systems with access limited to staff who need it, and we protect paper records physically. We keep health records for the periods required by NSW law: generally at least 7 years from the last service for adults, and until age 25 for people who were children when we saw them. After that, records are destroyed securely.
